GRAMMAR

In this unit I reviewed that grammar involves how we combine, organize and change parts of words to make meaning. As teachers we use it to describe language by referring to its forms and its uses.  On the other hand, I identified some grammatical forms in  parts of speech, grammatical structures and words that contain prefixes and suffixes

Let's tackle one of the most relevant aspects from this unit and as future teachers we really need to know how to teach grammar in fact there are some tips that help teachers with it. First, grammar rules describe the way that language works, but language changes over time, it means that grammar rules are not fixed that’s why teachers need to keep up-to-date with the language. Second, those rules describe written language rather than spoken language. A clear example of it is  contractions (e.g. don’t, isn’t, won´t) since they are common features of spoken language but they are not always describe in grammar books. Finally, it is very crucial that exercises and activities focus on form and use to give students practice of both since it helps them to experiment with language and discover the grammar rules by themselves.
